Big Brothers Big Sisters of Volusia-Flagler: Recruiting individuals to be part of an energetic and motivated board of directors who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children in Volusia and Flagler Counties. Experience in advertising, fundraising, marketing, sales, and special events helpful but not required. Residents of both Volusia and Flagler Counties welcome. Board meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of the month at 5:30pm. Center for the Visually Impaired: Recruiting board members experienced in financial management, fundraising, government, medical, and planning. CVI offers Independent Living Services to visually impaired individuals, which include daily living skills classes, computer training, mobility, and peer support for adults as well as transition services for youth. Board meetings are held the 4th Wednesday of each month from 5:30-7pm. Children's Home Society-North Coastal Division: Board members identify and implement fundraising, community awareness and outreach, and advocacy activities. CHS provides foster care, emergency shelter and residential group care, adoption services, case management, and family support services to children and families in Flagler and Volusia Counties. Board meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30pm. Serenity House of Volusia: Recruiting board members who will commit to attend 8-9 board meetings annually, serve on a committee that meets bi-monthly, and will assist in raising funds. Specifically looking for members with a background in accounting, government, mergers/collaborations, real estate, and religion. Serenity House provides a full range of services to indigent substance abusers with serious and complex disorders. Board meetings are held the last Tuesday of the month from 11:45am-1:15pm. United Way Volunteer Center: Currently seeking members for Advisory Committee that will commit to attending advisory meetings (10/year) and assist with Volunteer Center events. Specifically seeking individuals with a background/experience in advertising, communications, community relations, consulting, fundraising, human relations, marketing, social work, training, and special events. The United Way Volunteer Center seeks to promote and nurture volunteerism in the Volusia and Flagler communities through the recruitment, development, placement, and recognition of individuals and groups contributing time and talent to organizations which improve the quality of life for our residents. Meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of each month at 3:45pm (except July & December). VIND-Volusia
Interfaith/Agencies Networking in Disaster: Seeking Active Board
Members, from Volusia County, to promote or govern the realization of the
mission of VIND, which is to meet the unmet needs of individuals and their
families during the time of community related disasters. Experience/Training:
Accounting, Administration, Advocacy, Community Relations, Computer Programming,
Construction, Counseling, Financial Management, Fundraising, Human Relations,
Legal-Civil, Marketing, Personnel/Human Resources, and Public Relations. Board
Meetings: 2nd Thursday of the month at 1 or 2pm at Salvation Army, LPGA Blvd.
Daytona Beach. West Volusia YMCA: Recruiting Volusia County residents to be board members from all career backgrounds and ethnicities. Must be willing to attend meetings and help raise funds for YMCA programs. The YMCA provides leadership and facilities for social, recreational, and physical fitness programs in an environment conducive to social character building. Meetings are normally held the 3rd Wednesday of the month, 7am-8am.
